Arthur Hills shaped golf across Michigan for half a century, and this trail gathers the courses he designed from scratch: the cliffs and quarry above Little Traverse Bay at Bay Harbor, the resort courses of Boyne Highlands and Double JJ, HawksHead near the Lake Michigan shore, and the daily-fee and municipal courses that ring Detroit and Ann Arbor. Most welcome any golfer; a handful of private clubs, from The Moors to Oak Pointe and Egypt Valley, are what turn a home-state road trip into a pursuit.
